*a furry hand adjusts the station control. It pauses on 107.07. A voice is heard loud and clear*
"Hey out there! This is CGUM radio comin' at ya from the California watch station dedicated to those charismatic bouncers and all their fans. It's 9:30 AM, just finished watching THE ROAD TO URSALIA. Already have that one on tape but it is a good one. Sir Thornberry's been watching over Ursalia for 50 YEARS! Just how old is that bear? Hm..
"Later on in our program, we'll have some hard Gummi trivia and you'll have the chance to call in. And if you give the correct answer, you'll win another broadcast from us here at CGUM!!! Wow, that's on everybody's Christmas list."
"Okay, but first, there's a debate going around about Sunni and Cubbi and their parents relative to when the Great Gummies left and how long Gummi Bears can live. Now, we know these guys have moms and dads because in LIGHT MAKES RIGHT the cub in the flashback calls the adult beside him 'mother'. We also know that the Great Gummies left over 500 years ago. We might assume that none of the living Glen gummies are Sunni or Cubbi's parents. I don't even think Sunni and Cubbi are brother and sister. Check out UP, UP, AND AWAY when Cubbi is leaving. That ain't no sister's goodbye. So, there may be two possible situations: Their parents could have been part of the 'small band that stayed behind' to look after Gummi Glen and died later on... or the cubs were left so that everybody wouldn't be the same age and die around the same time. This was and is a problem if no gummies ever come back. Remember the Chummi scenario. He was the last gummi at Gummerset and left it to find others. It was 500 years ago when the Great Gummies fled across the ocean. The adults at Gummi Glen had to have been around then. They talk of seeing their gummi cousins again, etc. whenever the opportunity arises. I think Sunni, Cubbi, and Tummi were left much like Chummi had been, with others to take care of him and have another generation of caretakers. I mean, if the bears live a long time and they thought if they were 'gone' the humans would leave, too, then they might not have thought it would be that long before they would be contacted and all was clear again. But humans 'civilized' and settled and now they're stuck.
