C-G-U-M Radio!

*a furry hand adjusts the station control. It pauses on 107.07. A voice is heard loud and clear*

"Heya, Bouncers! It is a cold and sunny January morning here on the 31st, 8:10 in the morning. Pret-ty cold these days so bundle up!"

"What we have for you today are a few updates and a little talk on our favorite show. The GUMWYN project is ticking along rather nicely. Three script-parts are up for show at the Gummi Fics sector. Things are starting to brew so ya might wanna check it out. New fashions for Grammi, Zummi, and Gruffi are in the works as they explore the all-gummi land. You can check them out at the tail end of the cast listing. And keep an eye out for further GUMWYN arrivals."

"A new arrival to the airwaves is the Gummi Bears Directory. Set up by yours truly, this site vows to list every gummi ever produced by ... US! Yep. It is a catalogue of all fan-based gummi creations-- human, pixie, gummi, ogre, etc. Hahahaha! Even has visuals on several of the characters! There are definitely good artists in our midst. So please, to see the goal of the Gummi Bears Directory complete, please notify the proper channels-- of mis-spellings, missed characters, and bad links. On a side note, the introductory page has been given a facelift and is lookin' pret-ty sweet these days. Nudge nudge:)"

"Okay, enough promos. Time for discussing Gummies. So, on my daily migration to work this morning, I pondered my favorite animated production and Cavin's role in the whole thing. He was our link in the beginning --if you'll excuse the pun. As in, Cavin was the person we all 'wanted to be'. Oh, not because of who he is or what he is but WHERE and WHEN he is! Of course! Very simply, we wanted to know the gummies, too, and be a trusted friend and go on such adventures. That was the purpose of Cavin, theoretically. The scriptwriters were just brilliant enough to make him an enjoyable character. You might wanna review episodes again but it is this furry's opinion that humans were a lot of comedy relief in the show. Er.. Sir Tuxford for the largest example. Calla, on the other hand, was to appeal to all the girls in the possible target audience. She was very strong-willed yet not as much of a tom-boy as one might expect. Plus the adult-aimed, non-insinuating jokes and phrases only an adult may get the origin of (and groan at the corniness at times). An example is Gruffi's famous line:
"Now that's what I can hardened criminals."
...when referring to pouring cement on two ogres. A five-year-old will think it is funny predominantly for the sight-gag but an adult will also find it humorous and may actually sit and WATCH the show with their children! Wow.. What a concept! *chuckles* Yep. This was just a lil' chat on one other reason why the furry thinks this show was brilliant. Time ta sign off for now. So, until next time, this is the cheets!"
